McLean Museum and Art Gallery

The McLean Museum and Art Gallery, Greenock is the main museum in the Inverclyde area. The museum has many wonderful collections for the visitor to explore and discover a snap shot of Inverclyde's past industries and the connections that it had with the wider world. The museum was established in 1876 out of the collections developed by the Greenock Philosophical Society.
The displays feature an outstanding art collection, items related to the engineer James Watt, displays on Inverclyde's maritime and industrial traditions as well as world cultures, Egyptology and natural history.
